I wouldn't recommend using just a foley in a diaper. Foleys are basically infections looking for a place to happen, as you are essentially opening up your bladder to the environment. When we use foleys in the hospital, everything is sterile down to the bags that we attach to the end of the catheter, so as to prevent infection.
Bottom line, foley without a sterile bag = bladder infection in the worst way.
