Plan on 1/2 hour to 1 hour in the mornings, and refuse to change him (or let him change) unless he completes his morning exercise. Men build muscle faster and more than women, the best way for men to lose fat is to build muscle, since muscle burns more fat even when resting. Unless he wants to go to work in his soggy night diapers he'd better work out. :)
My wife and I have committed to 1/2 hour in the mornings on our exercise balls, and we've both gained quite a bit of strength in only a month.
