I would guess he has noticed, but just figures it isn't a big deal and is none of his business and so hasn't asked. He might just assume you have a bedwetting problem and need to wear them. The fact that you're not hiding the fact you wear diapers, by leaving them in plain view, may make him feel it's not something you feel the need to discuss, but are fully comfortable with.
Perhaps you could talk to him, and say you need to wear diapers due to a bedwetting problem (he is probably more likely to accept this than if you say it's for pleasure), and that you'd like to sleep, diapered, with the door open, but you just want to make sure he's okay with that.
Alternatively you could just keep leaving diapers is plain view, and sleep with them on and the door open, and wait until he asks about it - if he seems okay with it you could tell him the truth (you like them) and if he seems slightly uncomfortable make out it's due to a medical condition.
