ok,
i consider myself an ecpert on this... ive been using cloth all my life... but deviantly for about 25 years :)
yes of course you wash the pants as well. if you want them to last longer hand wash them but its up to you.
yes, use a normal machine.
i use 2 nappies a day *max* so i just do a separate wash withh all my nappies. we have a product called nappisan that you add to the normal wasing powder/liquid.
a hot wash is best but worse for the pants. you decide. im a bit gross... i rinse the pants in the shower cause i like a bit of a naughty "after-smell"
babykins are the best pants i have ever had. the "normal" vinyl does get hard over a couple of months of use but the thicker ones are much better. i just got some rubber ones and they are very good quality too. not really my thing but i just wanted to try them.
i think all-in-ones arent "real" nappies anyway. and also the plastic will wear out *way* before the material.
oh... btw... someone said to use fabric softener... i dont want to start a flame war but fabric softener is bad for nappies! it lessens the absorbancy and can give you a rash.
the cloth nappies i have are about 5 years old! i just get 110cm squares of terry towelling and sew the edges.
pants... well... depends on how often you use them etc. cheap pants might last me a month where as the babykins ones last much longer.
anything else?
