I spent almost a week in the hospital because they had to do a emergency Gal Gladder removal. If you haven't had that done, I don't wish it on anyone, even though they did it laprascopic. First night I spent in E.R. in observation as I was going to be taking tests to determine the source of my chest pain. The first night I was there I mentioned to the nurse I sometimes have night incontinence (which is true) and ask if they can provide be with a brief. Nothing more was said about it, and I was given one for the night. When I woke up wet she offered to help me with changing, but I was able to do it myself. Very professional. Same thing when I was admitted, mentioned the fact and was brought 3. No probing questions except general questions like cause, and how long et. After surgery though I really didn't need protection as I was constantly woken up for vitals, and lab work, but couldn't pass much urine, possibly from the anathesiology. for almost 1 day after. They inserted a cath to drain me which helped me more comfortable. I was scared of the possible pain with insertion, but I was relaxed, and aside from a little pressure, it was fine. So far as hospitals are concerned, my experience have been nothing but professional. I was straight forward with them. And they accepted the fact that I wear protection.
