It's the old Diaper Lovers joke: Every woman wants to change a man, right up until he asks her too...
First of all the only good in this situation is that she tipped her hand early. She could have waited till after the wedding. Not a lot of consolation but better than the alternative. Now the two of you have been together for longer than most marriages last so even a break up at this point will be just as painful. I feel for you.
No body can give you any advise on this more valuable than your own experience here. After more than a dozen years, you have all the perspective you need to determine if what you have together supersedes the DL aspect of your personality.
Personally I think people who come to the board for advice on these question have already made up their mind, they are looking for reinforcement.
I will just say this, sometime in the last year I have lost my desire for this. Granted, due to health issues, I lost my desire for most things. I don't know if it will come back but I have stack a diapers in the closet, ample time and opportunity to use them, but no desire. Is this a result of my wife's lack of interest? Has she influenced me away from this need?
Before we married she "loved" to be my babysitter. Then we got married and not so much loved it as didn't want anything to do with it what so ever. I enjoyed it on my own for years until I didn't any more. Now, I don't know. I kinda come back here out of habit. You rarely see a post from me anymore.
So, you can see where I'm going with this. The only caution I have is in regards to the way she makes you feel about it. Is that her intent? Does she want to humiliate you or is that your reaction to how she feels about it? It's important because no relationship can survive a lack of respect by either party.
