Your only (but fatal) mistake was not putting "I found the following on the net..." before and "What do you guys think?" after the (non-quoted) text so people thought it was your opinion/thoughts. I know it said Interesting Read but I also read it like it was from you.
So don't take it too personally as the bile was aimed at the original author.
