About 11 years ago I tried using Neet to remove all the hair down there (my balls etc). It was fine (on my pubic area) for a few minutes (I had tested it on my regular skin for 10 mins and that was fine), then it started to burn like crazy.
I washed it off... but the damage was already done... nasty chemical burns that took about 4 or 5 days to stop hurting. It made wearing a nappy impossible (because when you wet, the pee stings really bad).
To understand why... you need to understand how these depilatory products work. They are basically Lye (alkali) and moisturiser cream.
*warning - some technical (but interesting) geekery from several sources *
Depilatory creams contain sodium thioglycolate and calcium thioglycolate to dissolve the keratin that makes up the hair. When these chemicals mix with the hair there's often a mildly unpleasant sulphurlike odour that goes away when the cream is rinsed.
As the epidermis (skin) is also rich in keratin, the skin may become irritated and sensitive if the preparation is left on for too long.
* geekery bit ended *
I wouldn't go there - but if you do decide to do it... try only a little bit. It may be fine for you (I doubt it)... but best to test on a small portion first, eh?
