You should really try the Depends Refastenable Underwear. They're very thin, very comfortable, and very quiet and they'll hold quite a lot. The absorbant part really gels up when you pee in it. As long as you don't flood the diaper a lot at one time, I've never had one leak. They're so discreet, I've worn one in public many times, and nobody ever notices.
You can get them at most drugstores, but I usually order them from drugstore.com. It's only about $13 per bag.
