By not approaching women you creat a self-fulfilling prophecy. True, there are many that don't seem to want to talk to men; I would wager that many among that number are trolls impersonating lesbians in effort to live vicariously.
However, there are many genuine women out there into the DL scene who do like men, and who would be happy to meet them, so long as they're polite. My advice to you is to make your best attempt at charm and decorum and not let your angst get the best of you.
As a straight Daddy (yes, I'm into the "baby stuff"), I totally understand the frustration that you feel. The only thing that you can really do is try not to let it get the best of you.
