Hi Rob,
Try cloth. Get a pair of medium cotton pull-on briefs from Babykins and some cute plastic pants. She'll be cooler and look very cute.
Disposables take getting used to and Depends are not a comfortable diaper. They fit too snug and don't breathe at all.
While you are at it, don't over do it. She's going along with this because she wants to make you happy. Do things to make her happy too and don't make every night a diaper night.
