I told my girlfriend via a long-distance telephone conversation 19 years ago this month...we've been married nearly 19 years and she's been diapering me ever since.
I have never asked her to wear a diaper herself; that doesn't appeal to me at all.
The only problem she's ever had has been with dirty diapers...and then ony because she has a particularly acute sense of smell. If the odor didn't bother her, cleaning me up after a messy diaper wouldn't phase her a bit.
Three keys will either make or break your disclosure. First, you must be completely and totally truthful...you can't leave a diaper lying on the bed and hope she'll put two and two together. She won't.
Second, you have to treat her well in return. I've sent my wife roses every time she's babied me; after nearly 19 years, that's a lot or roses but the expense and bother are worthwhile.
Third, you have to have a deep and abiding friendship. I don't think love is absolutely necessary, but being friends is critical. You have to be able to accept (and even laugh at) each other.
