well i have used cheap brand baby disposables to mop up spills, and i even used one as a handy foot bandage when i cut my foot, it was good cos i could wear it like a slipper! infact i have heared of russians who do wear them as slippers and also use them as draught excluders, my old flat was prone to leaking in the ceiling when it rained heavily, i have used a nappy stop it dripping on my sofa!! i would imagine disposables would be good if there was a small fire becasue the gel stuff inside them is used as a fire retardant and ive heared they are good for sucking oil polluted water out of the sea or rivers, i think many people who used cloth nappies on there babies probably use the old nappies as rags, persoanly i think there best used when full up with poopies and sodden!
