I haven't spoken about this much, but I did just mention it in a message...
I just drove cross country and back (Fl-CA & back) and I stayed in diapers the whole time, treating myself as if I were incontinent - never using a toilet. I did use many rest stops along the way to change, and it was always interesting and sometimes nerve-wracking. Bathroom stalls don't offer much security from prying eyes and the noises are hard to cover in a quiet bathroom, but if you're patient, all can go quite well. I think only one time I misjudged and came out of my stall a bit premature, with diaper wrapped up, but in hand, only to find another occupant in the bathroom. I just dropped it in the trash, washed my hands as if nothing was up, and walked out. Considering that it's nobody's business what you do in a toilet, I just strode on not giving it another thought. However, I did travel in my van, and I had it set up to sleep in the back when I got tired (it turned out to be too hot most of the way...), and I used this setup to just change myself and clean myself up every second or third diaper. I didn't want to get into a rash situation whilst I was having so much fun. I also used a fair amount of Bacitracin (antibiotic) ointment to try to keep any rash from forming. I even changed myself totally outdoors at a rest stop in the dead of night (about 2 am) outside of the van, on a beautiful moonless night with only me and the entire galaxy to witness it... It was truly awesome! I highly recommend everyone take a road trip with their diapers and plenty of water and only use a diaper for peeing.
Others mentioned in another post about not being able to pee in the car... Two things to consider, first, if you're male, there is pressure exerted on the urethera at the base of your spine that sometimes makes it difficult to pee. Try "sort of" supporting or lifting yourself off the seat a little whilst you try to weewee. Secondly, I think our brains are wired to not wee while we are busy doing other things. It has taken me literally years of peeing whenever I have wanted to (in a diaper or Goodnite, of course...) to master being able to pee in the car whenever I want to. And, while it's not good to overdo it and hold it forever, if you get to a point where you have to pee so bad your back teeth are floating, you'll be able to pee in your diaper like a good little baby. Just remember, don't finish peeing in a toilet - just put on a new diaper and pee right away in it, if you can, and then wear it for a couple more hours until it gets totally soaked. I think I only leaked one time going cross country and back, and that was minor. All things considered, though, I was totally soaked almost the whole way to California and back to Florida. The rest stops all along the way were littered (not really...) with my dirty diapers in their waste baskets. So were many of the restraunts (sp) I visited along the way. In my other post, I explained about wearing two diapers (Depends Refastenable) at once. That way, you can pull the soaked one off, and have another fresh one for several more hours or diapered driving. That works for whatever situation you are in (work, etc.) where you need to change during the day, but can't pull your pants/dress & shoes totally off in the bathroom. Just rip the soaked one and you're good to go (maybe tuck a moist cleanup towlette in the diaper before heading into the potty).
