Too right: This is really a solitary pleasure, lurk and enjoy, but keep yourself to yourself. The suppliers understand this. I make a point of never giving my identity when face to face in an AB shop, and then paying in cash. I park my car around the corner. I use credit cards on the net, but then I never meet face to face. They get one or the other.

In terms of sexual satisfaction we enjoy a second option, with few of the financial, emotional, and health penalties of conventional sex. It would be very unwise to meet any of these "Gollums" as they would certainly want a great deal from you and could turn very nasty when refused. There are plenty of straight men around.
