OK, So I agree that for the most part what this message board needs is more off topic threads. I also think that there are ceratin topics that should be avoided as no one will ever agree and all they do is piss the participants off(while fun to watch it's detremental to the board), they include; politics, pizza topings and whether or not the new Moulan Rouge was any good.
That being said, let me break my own rule by discussing politics. Now I aint touching that first thread with a ten foot pole. But I do have a thing or two to say.
From a realpolitik point of view I think we should in general be as thankful as possible to stay off the publics radar. While intelligent individuals can be taught to understand what we're about. The public in general operates under groupthink. They would assume the worst about us, and we would have a harder not easier time existing in the world.
So in terms of wife ups, the minor set back isn't worth getting worried over. In the last five years we've made far far more progress than ever, and this small setback isn't worth getting upset over. The government is trying to stop sex offenders and I say the best thing to do is assist them in every way we can. Yelling at a cop is a poor way of getting out of a ticket, and screaming first ammendment in situations such as this isn't going to imrpove our free speach, the only thing it does is lessen our political credibility by making us sound like the boy who cried wolf.
Ah well I guess I probably have more to say, alas I'm too fucking lazy to type it, let alone think it out. If you think I'm a fucking idiot, please feel free to say so
