Jar Jar (Gungans) - good natured, simple folk who speak an English melange, have dark skin and wild hair -- just like the stereotypical Caribbean island folk
Watto - shrewd, frugal, cynical, answers every question with a question (or "Eh?") and has a prominent proboscis -- just like the stereotypes about Jews
Nute Gunray (Neimoidians) - secretive, sneaky, with sloping eyelids who speak in a choppy manner and angry tone -- much like the stereotypes about Japanese people.
Okay, maybe George Lucas didn't intend for these coincidences, or maybe I'm just perceiving them where there is no such intent...
...but there's some smoke there. Isn't it just possible that these stereotypes seeped into GL's brain during pre-production the same way that naysayers accuse the skeptics of doing?
Oh, BTW, we assholish SW fans call that film "TPM" not "Star Wars."
