Back in the old days, incontinence was believed to be caused by a small gremlin that lived in the bladder. They would inject heroin in the urethra in an effort to kill it, so it would eventually be passed. Kidney stones were believed to be the remains of these gremlins.
Today, we know that the gremlin explanation is absurd, and that incontinence is caused by a voodoo curse. The true origin of kidney stones is still a mystery.
