Tragically, from what VNL posted below, the authorities can't find enough evidence to shut the place down yet. These places are also fanatical about hiding their evil side when being investigated. There are no laws prohibiting cults or the like in the US as long as nothing illegal takes place, although most people know otherwise.
Zach's parents are more cracked-in-the-head than he is by thinking this place is going to de-program his sexual identity. If anything, it will only make it worse. His wiring will eventually short-circuit, catch fire and explode, possibly even to the point of doing something criminal.
The other problem for him is the fact that he is a minor. About the only thing to escape from his parents legal grasp would be to find a compassionate judge that would grant him Emancipation. He only needs to prove his ability to be mentally stable, work, pay bills, taxes and all else that involves living as an adult. After that, get the hell out of Dodge and find a more tolerent area to live in.
