Uh. . .yeah.
There IS a big hole in the ozone layer, caused by CFCs from hairspray, freon, etc. And higher UV penetration that results IS causing more skin cancer.
And the energy crises of 1974 (Arab oil embargo) and 1979-80 (Iranian revolution/ hostage taking) didn't happen either?
FACT: Carbon dioxide, methane, and some other chemicals absorb and retain heat
FACT: We've been pumping shitloads of these chemicals into the atmosphere since the industrial revolution (something like 500X what was entering the atmosphere annually in the 100,000 years before)
We can argue about the rate of increase, but the increase is there.
If you look at the lungs of a typical 30-year-old, pack-a-day smoker, probably the "evidence won't be there" that he's getting cancer. By you logic, I guess there's no reason for him to quit until he actually finds a tumor. Right?
And extra plant life absorbing the CO2 and making more oxygen? Sure, maybe in about 1000 years.
