Not hard to do. Simply place a paper towel inside the diaper.
I've heard some bad stuff about those training pants. Some mothers were saying they caused bad rashes. My thoughts were, why the hell were the mothers using training pants like diapers - the kid feels wet - you change the pants. Very easy.
