I think that is why hubby insists that we always have at least minimum mattress protection - a waterproof mattress cover (we get ours at KMart). It has proved to be GREAT - even if the mattress does get some of my pee (like when it goes around the waterproof part of the cover), it is not nearly as bad as the first time I had a major accident in bed without it - he was a bit more than furious.
