I had to spend a few days in another nearby state. I decided that no one at the motel where I was booking reservations would know me and would probably never see me again, so I made special arrangements. When I called to book my room, I asked to speak with the manager. I was put on hold and in a few minutes, a feemale voice, said, "this is Katie, how may I help you?" I asked, "are you the manager." When she said, yes, I told her, I want to book a room at your hotel for 3 nights, but I have a bit of an embarrassing problem. When she asked what I needed, I said, "I am a bedwetter, so I need protection on the bed." She thanked me for bringing it to her attention and said that I wasn't the only bedwetter that ever stayed with them, but I was one of the few who notified them ahead of time. She said that it would be taken care of and my "special room" would be reserved and held aside. When I got there, they had my reservation in a seperate slot. Each night, I drank plenty of water before going to bed, and wet the bed during the night. The next morning I'd leave the covers down to expose the wet sheets and rinse my Pjs in the sink before hanging them in the shower to dry. When I came back to the hotel in the after noon, the bedding was changed and the bed made. Whenever I happened to see a member of the housekeeping staff, they would smile at me. On the last morning, I left an apologetic thank you note and a $20 dollar bill on the pillow. I had a great time, and now the staff at one motel thinks I have a bedwetting problem.
