the only night time protection I ever had was a rubber sheet on the bed. My mom washed ,y wet bed sheets and Pjs every morning and hung them on the clothesline to dry. Of course, some stains just don't wash out after years of being soaked in pee on a night;y basis. This was in the late 40s to mid 50s, so dryers weren't generally available. As a result, one could walk around the neighbor hood and see which housed had a bedwetterliving there from the pee stained sheets drying on the line. There was one house where a boy just under my age lived that had a few cloth diapers on the line most every day, and he was an only child, so they were most likely his. I wish disposable diapers had been around back then, it would have been much less embarrassing than having those sheets hanging on the line when I got home from school
