get real-in many parrishes thru out the country the first communion dress is considered an extension of the baptism gown worn by the babies.the diaper and plastic pants is worn under the communion dress to symbolize the purity of baptism for the girls.it is a tradition in many parrishes for the girls to wear the diaper,also a family tradition in many families and a requirement at some parishes.we know of many parishes where the diaper and plastic pants are worn by the girls.
