Anyway, enough about me..I just had to post this...yesterday I visited an acquaintence of mine from work who does not know I'm AB. She has 2 boys age 9 and 12. Anyway, to make a long story short HER 9 YEAR OLD WAS STILL SUCKING ON A BOTTLE! She fixed him 3 bottles right there in front me (1 of gatorade and 2 of water). I didn't see the 12 year old with a bottle but there were like a dozen pre-made in the fridge and more in the cabinet (makes you wonder..) She seemed so nonchalant about the whole thing, so accepting it was so refreshing! :) I gently broached the subject by saying "aww how cute ryan has a bottle" and she said "yeah he's hooked on it" and smiled and I congratulated her for being so open minded about his choice of comfort. She said "well you know, once you get over the whole HE'S STILL SUCKING ON A BOTTLE! thing and really break it down it is completely harmless." I agreed whole heartedly :)
I hadso many questions didn't get to ask like does he take the bottle out of the house? what does your husband say? etc but I guess those will have to be answered another day. The bottle was a clear nurser with a white top and a brown rather large, somewhat odd-shaped nipple. I'll let you know what happens next time we meet if anyone is interested.
