Start small. Don't rush into talking about diapers, that will come hun. Laugh a little about how you feel oraly fixated, and always used to love pacifiers. Then make it a game, and pull him into the baby isle and have him help you pick out a cute one. Insist he buy it, then say "Thank you Daddy!".
It's all about helping him into the role, many guys would love to a be a Daddy. They just tend to be scared of your judgement. Give him the feeling that you're ok with it - and you'll find him taking control in no time. :)
