... that I patently reject the (IMn-s-HO, sex-negative) notion of "transcending" sex and intercourse, and promoting a confused, co-opted notion of love as sex. It seems some strange and silly notion that is almost a farcical inverse of the practice of referring to intercourse as lovemaking (which, I must admit, is a phrase that I am fond of).

I accept that penetrative sex may not be the preference of many people (studies show other styles are preferred, especially oral/manual), but think it is a mistake for us to couch the notions of our scene in ideas where such things are considered base or below other expressions.

So, my point is, I would suggest that we call sex, sex, but that if we like, we can always refer to it as an expression of love... but let's not debase sex by suggesting that it is inferior to love (even that very special bond that many of us here appreciate).
