If it's a part of you then he should least try to find some acceptance in it, maybe even try it, if he's too pigheaded and reluctant to do it and that makes you feel uncomfortable or sad than maybe the relationship is not what it should be and you should just move on and find a new guy who'll love you for the outside you and the LG you keep inside of you.
