I know some LGs only want their Daddy to be a Daddy and feel switching ruins things. For me I can play either way... or even as two little kids together. I don't mind sticking to a role for an evening, and love the Daddy role, but can't deny I like to wear nappies too.
I think it would be hard to play Daddy or Mummy without personal experience as to how it feels to enjoy being Little and cared for, so I think it is a benefit if the Daddy or Mummy enjoys nappies themselves.
