Anyone who has been online looking for any significant amount of time has been deceived in some way. It only ruins it if you let it get to you. since you have 14 years experience it shouldn't be a shock to you. you should be used to it by now and let it roll off your back. people have posted rants like this before. it won't change those who prefer to hide and be dishonest. just be true to yourself and don't let the dishonest ones get to you. yes, it is annoying. yes, people should be honest and not take people for a ride. that will never change. you just need to not let it bother you so much.
play dates will never be a substitute for a loving relationship. I have done the hotel meetings and play dates in the past. looking back they cannot compare to a real relationship. if you have play date partners, why not make more of that then just a day or two? you sound like you want a relationship so why sell yourself short? don't let the frauds and fakers ruin it for you.
