Thanks for the insight and you are indeed right. I have apologized and admitted I was wrong. I have told her that I would not let such a thing happen again. She has contacted me and still calls me daddy, but she says she is still angry with me but will not say why...this was a few days ago. Since then it's the same thing of disappearing and no explanation except, "nowhere daddy" or "I was sleeping". I am practicing letter time go by and only leaving a short message, or going in to check on her, feed and give her medicine. The sleeping part more than likely is real because she has been ill, but the other part, still being angry after 5 days and me backing off to give her plenty of space still bothers me.
