I would be so, so sad if my daddy wanted to get rid of my blankie. I had my original one up until 2 years ago, when we had a house fire and I lost it. I bought a replacement on eBay, since they stopped making them about 15 years ago, but its not the same. Once, I left my old one in the bed at a resort in Aruba and my daddy spent over $100 on long distance calls and bribes to Housekeeping to mail it him. I was so happy to get it back!
Tell him how much that blankie means to you and that you don't want a new one. Some times the most direct approach is the easiest.
