Well, when the Internet became available, I became shocked at the amount of people who could not spell or use decent grammar. I mean, what were they doing in the classroom? Sleeping? Being class clowns? As for me, I still screw up even though I am highly intelligent. Thank goodness for my spellchecker... I *still* make mistakes! But I at least try to check myself as I want to project a decent image. I don't even bother responding to classified ads (like on Craigs List) when the ad is written by a bad speller or someone who can't speak decent English, as it shows the lack of pride she has. Spellcheckers are FREE (I use the one in Google's toolbar) so there's no excuse.
A big peeve is sites that don't allow one to edit his or her message because many people like yours truly, tend to pres s the enter key too soon.
I think Fetlife has the worst spellers, which shows their lack of intelligence, personal pride and attention to detail.
