Acceptance of one's own kinky side does take time. Society is rather judgemental about fetishes. You just need to accept that if it makes you happy and doesn't hurt/damage anyone else its a GOOD thing. Having said that it did take me a few years to really accept that.
Don't think of yourself as a burden - a daddy would certainly not view it that way - looking after a LG is a joy not a burden!
