Thanks for your compliments, Narada. I'm glad you enjoyed it. However there's no need to needlessly criticise your own work though which, I'm sure, is very good. I try to aim for realism, i.e. not just what could happen but very probably might and, for that reason, my stories tend to be a little bit understated.
If you like I can certainly come up with more stories from Anne's unmarried years. Brian does get to know about her habits and, whilst they sadly don't turn him on, he develops a slightly bemused and good humoured tolerance of her behaviour. If you like I can do another story involving Anne's mother - if you like it could involve a flashback to an accident she (Elizabeth Glenning) had in her twenties, before Anne was born. Michaelmas, named after the Feast of St Michael and All Angels on 29th September, is the name used by Cambridge university for the autumn (fall) term.
