I'd never talk to a therapist about it because I don't really consider it a problem. I'm also pretty sure I can draw a line to how it developed. When I was younger, I was bed wetter fairly late. It kind of runs in my family. My brother had the same issue and I had a female cousin my age who also wet the bed well into childhood. We actually shared a bed during a sleepover at about age 6 and we both wet it.
As you can imagine, this was a focus of a lot of attention with my family. And while I wanted to stop, I also developed a curiosity about bodily functions. Around the time I started to stop wetting the bed, I became curious about pooping my pants and by then was old enough to experiment with it when I was home alone. I'm not really sure how I got to be home alone so often, but I did it a fair amount right into high school. Often, I'd poop into my hand first and then wrap the poop in toilet paper to limit the mess. By the time I got online I was able to explore how others enjoyed themselves, which was great. I remember the glory days of IRC and the small handful of interested people. Would often feel inspired to play in such settings.
