In all fairness to the site owner, you all have to remember one thing...it's generally not the site owner who is greedy, but rather the company the site owner is using to host it. Once he/she got up to 4500+ pics and several hundreds of videos,Ning (the hosting company) started demanding rent for all the storage space and bandwidth. I can't speak for anyone else, but it was the one place where I was starting to see fresh content - not the usual rehashed stuff. I went ahead and made the $29 donation via Paypal because it was easy to do and the person was trying to make a decent site for us. All of you know how some of these hosting companies can be; we can't truly be mad at the owner. You simply can't have everything for free...hell, the free sites are all recirculating stuff that you, me and everyone else has already seen. I have the storage space to pull something like that off, but I know my ISP would cut me off within days once they saw the web traffic.
It comes down to this, we can either sympathize with the owner's predicament and perhaps come up with some solutions, or we can bitch him/her out and lose what was turning into one of my favorite sites. I wish I had more money to contribute instead of just the $29 bucks. Let's face it, not everyone can pull something like this off and be a potential contender against the TRULY ripoff sites like pantypooping.com
If any of you have a constructive suggestion as to how we can either help the entrepreneur or else band together to find a way to put something up ourselves for free,I'm all ears. I know what I like and the Ning site had it. If someone wants to collaborate with me to put something like that up and hopefully keep the costs down, get in touch with me. (I'll let you know now, I'm especially a fan of the asian versions (omorashi, etc.)
