Personally I'm with you on a lot of that. Even though I'm into it (to a degree). I don't like the smell, or the cleanup. The cleanup isn't bad if you don't sit on it. I don't do that both because I don't like it and the cleanup is terrible. (you can get him to help you clean up though)
It's not something I partake in often, I'm sure your partner will be understanding if you don't either. You should try wetting as well, you mentioned he's interested in that, it's also almost nothing to clean up if you do it in the shower.
At least you got the initial embarrassment out of the way so you can be more confident when you do it later on. I definitely applaud your care and commitment to your partner. Thanks as well for the report, that was a pretty good read.
