Hi. That was me who posted that a couple of weeks ago.
After I wrap it up in the plastic, I then wrap it in a piece of cheesecloth. I suppose you could use any really thing cloth. That way I don't feel the plastic at all and the cloth is thin enough to still feel everything.
I can't explain the smell, unless the plastic wrap I have is "thicker" than what you used. Or maybe having that cheesecloth around it makes a difference.
