From the way you worded your reply, it sounds like you and your husband use the same email account. I do not blame you for not wanting to send emails that he might be able to find, but I do have a solution if you would like an account that he couldn't check.
I don't mean to be patronizing if your good with computers, but here is an easy way to get an independent and free email address of your very own. Go to http://yahoo.com and click on the Check Mail button, its the third from the left at the top of the screen. A screen will load and on the left hand side will be a blue link saying Sign Me Up! Once you click on it, a form will come up asking for information. You don't have to provide your real name, zip, you can make it up and as long as it seems reasonable Yahoo won't mind it. In a matter of minutes, you will have your own email to be able to talk to others with from this board. :)
Having typed that out, I will also offer to help you get started with chats if you have never done them before, Instant Messanging services which are one-on-one chats, and anything else you might want. Like you, I am a fairly normal person in life, I just happens to be good with computers and helping people with them.
