There is the "proximity problem" - the closer you get to a toilet, the worse you have to go. I speculate that porcelain sends out secret signals that are received by the bladder: "You're almost there, you can let go now." ;-)
Many times I haven't had to go that urgently, but as I'm coming in the door or even approaching the bathroom, there is a sudden, overwhelming need to pee. If I hadn't been so close to relief I could have waited another hour.
