I heard something about it a while back. It seems the organisers clear a portion of the stage from public, to allow the competitors to pee by the side of the road. There is also a tacit rule among racers that says that no-one is to try a breakaway during pee break.
One of my dreams would be to hide in the bushes near that portion of the stage before the start...
