They both sound equally desperate but if you want to split hairs (pubic hais are ok for this) I would have to vote for #2 because from the limited information given it sounds to me like she started running at an earlier point in her trip to the loo. Her momentary stopping on the way could have been for any number of reasons, none of which were more important than her destination.
