On the evidence of watching crowds at big outdoor events I would say it's the women who are adept at holding on (due to modesty) whilst the guys just let it all out whenever & wherever the need arises. When the women do have to give in to the inevitable they can certainly pee a good amount.
I guess that it's the particular circumstances that dicate behaviour patterns in this regard.
