This reminds me of my one brief experience with the "human potential movement" which was big stuff about 15 years ago. A woman in whom I was interested suggested I sign up for one of their weekends. There was an introductory gathering Friday evening; then it was a 7AM to midnight Saturday and 7AM to 8PM (?) Sunday. The first big session on Saturday we were warned would be many hours with no break. The instructor told us that our dedication to go without a break was crucial to instill within us the discipline necessary to accomplish an important task (that's the best I can remember). In particular, one of the two instructors told us that he wet his pants rather than break discipline when he had gone through this years ago.
Well, I prepared by drinking nothing the night before and Saturday morning (I expected by bowells to hold it without help). I probably was severly dehydrated but I didn't need to pee for the four or five hours of that first session and I didn't see anyone wet their pants (sorry, gang; no sighting to report), though there were quite a few women there whom I would have loved to have seen fidgeting in earnest.
