Or maybe she grew up in a house that had a septic tank. Most of the really soft, thick TP just builds up and eventually clogs the system. As a result you ether have to use the thin rough stuff or minimize the amount going down the toilet. Could be and old habit of not putting TP down the toilet unless it's #2 which most people only need to do once a day or so.
