As far as the relax and be more cheerful idea
goes, I kind of doubt that's going to happen.
Anyone posting a thoughtless and nasty remark
like that is not likely to change.
The old "grow up" remark is just another way
of saying I don't care about you or your problems
but it is couched in a way to make the recipient
feel diminished. I used to have a teacher who
used that all the time.
But she had a speech impediment. So it always
came out "Oh, just *throw* up." It was always
a trip to see new kids hear this, and say
(sotto voche) "did she really say what I
*thought* she said?"
