Nope, the fur is fine. I never have it dry cleaned nor washed (in any other way, that is). It's an old fur, my grandmother had it before me and she used to put babies on it, naked, without a diaper, to air their soft skin all over. That's what made me dare to try the first time. I just let it air for longer than I think is needed, and then, if needed, brush it a bit, and it's as good as new again.
