With a cable internet connection, I am 'networked' to my internet provider which means I can never lose connection with them even when I close out Netscape and all my other internet applications. Even if I turn my computer OFF and unplug it from the wall, my connection to the network is maintained (cool, eh?). The problem occurs with the popups.
I suspect that you are able to close out your windows because you can click out of them faster than they appear. Just wait until you get your next computer, though. Popups occur faster on faster computers and anything much above 500mhz will pop up so fast you won't be able to close them faster than they appear.
But even if you are able to do so, it begs the question, why would people advertise in this manner? It is not getting them MY business.
